Introducing The New Community Garden in Rickmansworth

We’re excited to announce that we will shortly be launching a brand new Community Garden in the heart of Rickmansworth.

The garden will be located in a small part of the existing Community Orchard, which can be found behind the Rose Garden, close to Three Rivers House in central Rickmansworth.

We are planning to plant a range of fruits, vegetables and herbs in raised beds.

Community Gardens offer many benefits: A chance to get active outside, connect with other residents and, of course, learn more about growing plants, boosting local biodiversity and climate resilience.

There’s plenty to do and we’d love to see you there!

Sustainable Fashion Show in Chorleywood This Saturday

The RE23 fashion event will showcase how enjoying fashion can go hand in hand with caring for the planet, as we ‘Rewear', 'Repurpose', 'Regenerate' and 'Reconnect'. 

This locally-focused show will feature collections from schools, community groups, charity shops, environmentally conscious businesses and local creatives from the area.

The event is hosted by Chorleywood Community Initiatives and Chorleywood Magazine, in association with Chorleywood Parish Council and with the support of Three Rivers District Council.

New Trees Planted in Rickmansworth High Street

We are delighted that two new trees have been planted at the entrance to Rickmansworth Hight Street.

The trees are Sweet Gums, which will be able to thrive in this location. They also have beautiful leaves which turn to shades of orange, crimson and purple in autumn.

Urban trees bring wide benefits for communities and they are needed more than ever as we face climate change. They produce oxygen whilst soaking up carbon dioxide and pollution. They can also help protect against flooding as well as keeping us cool in the summer.

Local Coach Offers Group Environmental Sessions

Local life coach Jane Irwin wants to help Three Rivers residents feel motivated and better prepared to positively impact the environment.

She is offering blocks of 6 group sessions in the local area. Contact Jane for more details.

Save Our Wild Isles

Sir David Attenborough is sounding the alarm for UK nature in his stunning new Sunday night series.

Please play your part in saving our wild isles by signing up for this major national campaign. It’s supported by the WWF, the RSPB and the National Trust.

Support The Big One

Join Three Rivers residents and people from all over the UK from April 21st to 24th in London. This is our chance to show how much we care about climate change and the state of our natural world, at peaceful rallies and events in Westminster.

The first day Friday 21st April is our chance to influence members of Parliament, who will be at work, looking out over a sea of concerned ordinary citizens. 

And on Saturday 22nd April, we can join the colourful, festival atmosphere, when families gather to watch the Earth Day parade, celebrating our planet’s many species.

Sustainable Three Rivers will be there, alongside Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and many more environmental organisations. Come and join us!
