We’re a Community Interest Company and everything we do is for the benefit of all of us in the Three Rivers area. We are running more and more events and other initiatives (our Community Garden is thriving and our workshops get rave reviews).

Sustainable Three Rivers is a Community Interest Company (CIC), which is a type of social enterprise in the UK. Unlike traditional businesses focused on maximising profit for shareholders, a CIC exists primarily to benefit the local community. It operates under an asset lock, meaning its assets and profits must be reinvested into its social mission rather than distributed for private gain, and is overseen by the CIC Regulator to ensure it continues to serve its community purpose.

We are funded by voluntary donations and occasional charitable grants plus welcome donations from councillors’ budgets, when finances allow.

Our main costs are the running of our website and newsletters. We also fund eco workshops for adults and school children plus provide materials for schools. Our Community Garden is maintained by volunteers but also requires up-keep and new signage.
